Do caffeine pouches expire?
Found an old can? Start with the printed date, then check how it was stored and whether the directions change after opening.
Use the shelf-life and storage instructions for your exact product. There is no single expiration period that applies to every caffeine pouch, and opening a can does not automatically give it a new shelf life.
First, identify the date on the can
Look for a word next to the date, not just a number. If all you can find is a batch code, the manufacturer is the right source for decoding it. Do not use a retailer's listing date or a social post as the product's expiration date.

How long do caffeine pouches last after opening?
Check for an after-opening instruction on the label or the manufacturer's product information. A date printed for a sealed package does not tell you every condition that applies once it is opened. If no after-opening period is stated, ask rather than assuming a fixed number of days.
- Keep unused pouches in their original container, with its label and batch information.
- Follow the closure and storage directions on that container.
- Keep used pouches separate from unused product.
What if the can was in a hot car or the pouches dried out?
Compare what happened with the labeled storage directions. If the can was exposed to conditions outside those directions, ask the manufacturer whether it should be discarded. Normal appearance or smell cannot confirm that the product is suitable to use.
Do not add water, flavoring, or another liquid to try to restore a dried-out pouch. That is not a validated way to restore the manufacturer's product. Do not use a pouch with a broken wrapper, visible contamination, or an uncertain identity.
Get a useful answer from the manufacturer
Include the product name, flavor, batch code, date marking, when you opened it, and how it was stored. A clear photo of the label makes the question easier to answer.
